Licking River

Yeah, um...

Maddox, I don't want to tell you how old Jim and I are, but we used to bow hunt together the Licking River bottoms way before there was ever a cave-run lake.

So we're pretty familiar with the area up there that you used to hunt.

We did literally.

Uh, Fleming County's a lot the same way.

We've got river bottoms along the Licking River here that makes our, our southern border, and some big, big grain operators there.

And then you move on up into, to my part, um, my, my...

Our farm, the topography is rolling, which is a nice way of saying hilly.

And the basement had a well in it that was used to drain the blood and the remnants of the animals.

And this well would go right into the Licking River, which is behind Bobby Mackey's.

And I do have a picture of that well for you.

That's probably got to be pretty gross.

This is what they used to put the animal pieces in.

And a lot of people claim that this is the portal to hell is what it's been nicknamed.

And basically it goes down here and it would flow off into the licking river, which is behind Bobby Mackey's.

Now it's not filled with water or anything anymore.

So join me as we dive back into the horrifying true story of Bobby Mackey's music world.

Our story begins in Wilder, Kentucky, where an abandoned music hall now sits off the banks of the Licking River.

Country singer Bobby Mackey visits the property with a real estate agent in search of fulfilling a lifelong dream.

After hitting success in the music scene, allowing him to leave his job at the railroad, and pursue music full-time.

There were documented incidents involving law enforcement at the time, catching various groups performing rituals in the basement around that well.

They would typically perform blood sacrifices of small animals as offerings, believing it to be a portal of sorts due to how much blood had been spilt and soaked into the land.

When the property had been a slaughterhouse, A main drain pipe would guide the blood from the floor, where it would then drain off into the licking river.

Doug began to speculate that the two men Carl had seen that night when he discovered the well could very well have been the spirits of Alonzo Walling and Scott Jackson, because he believed that the two, for whatever reason, satanic or not, had disposed of her head in that well, and now they haunted the grounds of the club.
