Libourne

It's a farmhouse.

You could drive past it on the little road from Libourne and never slow down.

The wine made behind that farmhouse sells on average for around 4000 euros a bottle.

Great vintages go for tens of thousands.

Saint-Emilion is the other Bordeaux.

It sits on the right bank, east of the river, in an area called Libourne.

And almost everything about it is the opposite of Médoc.

The soil there isn't gravel, it's limestone and clay.
