found Republican Ashley Henson leading the American Iowa's U.S. Senate race by 48% to 47%.
Laura BelinGUEST
16:27
This poll did not mention Thomas Lane, the Libertarian, by name, so another candidate has got less than 1%, but I feel that when people see a third name on the ballot that they could get a little bit more support.
Laura BelinGUEST
16:38
So I don't really understand why pollsters are not naming Thomas Lane, but in any case, a Turek had a slightly better favorability ratio than Ashley Henson.
Laura BelinGUEST
16:48
This field, this poll was in the field between September 22nd and October 1st.
Robert GerkeGUEST
16:09
Basically, it's just done to keep it from having seven candidates or five candidates up there.
Robert GerkeGUEST
16:15
The other candidates who are on the ballot in the first district, I'm going to have to try to remember all of these, a guy named Jesse West, who's the Libertarian nominee.
Robert GerkeGUEST
16:25
There's a guy named Elias Montgomery, who's an unaffiliated candidate, a young guy, kind of like Riley Owen.
Robert GerkeGUEST
16:32
And then there's a guy named Bobby Darvish, who is a write-in candidate.
Stephanie HaneyHOST

Again, we are working to reschedule the conversation that we previously had scheduled with Republican candidate for U.S. Senate for Ohio, John Husted.
Stephanie HaneyHOST
49:45
We also have conversations scheduled with the Libertarian candidate, Bill Redpath, and the independent candidate, Gregory Levy.
Stephanie HaneyHOST
49:51
So we'll bring those to you in October.
Stephanie HaneyHOST

Thank you.

Stephanie HaneyHOST
50:20
We'll also be releasing our interview with the Libertarian candidate Don Kisik online tomorrow, and we'll broadcast that interview on Wednesday's show.

let's start by talking about the composition of this poll so signal is a republican pollster they primarily work for republican groups and iowans for tax relief is a group that technically again nonpartisan but generally supports republican candidates and policies so this sample was pretty strongly republican 42 and a half percent of the sample was republican only 31 percent democrat and 20 no party that is a pretty favorable turnout scenario for republicans i went back to look at the turnout from 2022 and 2018 there were more democrats voting than that but in any case uh the gop voter registration advantage is larger now than it was in 2018 or 2022 but i would say it's kind of hard to imagine that democrats will only be 31 of the voters in november but that's the assumption in this poll
Spencer DirksHOST
11:54
The signal found Ashley Henson and Josh Turek tied at 42.9% in the Senate race, 3.6% support the Libertarian Thomas Lane.
Laura BelinGUEST
12:03
And with about 10% undecided.
Laura BelinGUEST
12:05
So also very close on a generic ballot for Congress.
Spencer DirksHOST
12:38
Another Republican pollster, the Trafalgar Group, released a poll of Iowa Senate race that was in the field from September 16th to the 18th.
Spencer DirksHOST
12:45
This one found Hinson leading Turek by 44% to 42%.
Spencer DirksHOST
12:47
3.4% supported the Libertarian Thomas Lane.
Laura BelinGUEST
12:53
And again, Trafalgar is a pretty Republican pollster.
