Liang dynasty

They have this so-called companion kind of marriages, you know.

So there was this couple, you know, in the, you know, early kind of, you know, in the Liang Dynasty, you know, So they were writing poems to each other.

So the woman really kind of just talk back and she was teasing her husband very, you know, you can actually, it's just so palpable, you know, their relationship, you know, the kind of dynamics and he would write a poem to her and then she would retort and she would tease him and she would say, you know, kind of, you know, oh, you know, my dear, I think, you know, you're exaggerating.

And also, she was giving a critical reading of his poem.

Houjin Rebellion, you know, broke out, right, you know, almost wiped out the entire capital city, you know, Jiankang, modern Nanjing is a city of, you know, that suffered a great deal throughout history.

But anyway, that was that was a huge kind of disaster.

And so after that, for a while, the dynasty, that was the Liang dynasty, kind of, you know, they, you know, they set up a capital in China.

Jiangling in modern Hubei, you know, kind of for a while.

The Southern dynasty, meanwhile, is centered around the city of Jiankang, which was established, uh, originally as a kind of government in exile, but the Jin were overthrown here and, uh, succeeded by a number of other dynasties.

By tradition, Bodhidharma arrives during the Liang dynasty, which reigned from five O two to five fifty-seven.

Given that this is the chaotic political climate in which Bodhidharma comes to China and founds his school, the records about Bodhidharma himself are spotty at best.

We know very little about him.
