Um, pretty bad goal to concede.

Neil Harris, who does like to have high standards, particularly defensively, won't be happy about how Watts and Heffernan defended Lewis Wing's kind of straight ball over the top.

But, um, it was turned into a goal by Jack Marriott, who does that better than anyone.

But, uh, Liam Bennett, uh, with a, a looping backstick header equalized.

So, yeah, definitely, as per usual, it took Marriott again to lighten things up and get things moving.

Yeah, Lewis Wing, I think if you watch it back, probably does get an assist.

I don't know if the Cambridge United defender actually touches the ball, but yeah, it's one of those typical kind of puts it into an area, doesn't he? We know Marriott might be, but it's a lovely finish.

He just takes it so quickly.

So there's none of that nonsense for me

on that.

But yeah, there's obviously been some debate about Lewis Wing, and obviously he's not creating chance after chance, and he's not scoring goals from 25 yards, and his also general play hasn't been necessarily at the highest level.

For me, he's just changing role, and he's not having to be that guy who play has to go through all the time.

And Wickham, the mighty chair boys are still playing their trade in League One.

Is, oh, what's his face? A bloke who used to play for Middlesbrough, Wing.

Lewis Wing, is he still there? What's the point? What's the point of me asking you?

But anyway, the Mighty Cobblers,

or not so Mighty Cobblers, won a game.

Joel Pereira in goal, obviously, Doakes, POC, Little Benny, and then Hayden came in for Joel Dorsett, who was completely out of the team, we believe is a neck injury.

Kyrie Slisby, Lewis Wing, Andy Winnemotor and Paddy Lane across the four in midfield, and then George Effie kind of in the pocket and supporting Jack Marrett up top.

We are in a situation where Liam is able now to put out a consistent team or a consistent base of a team.

One change is pretty good from a winning team and obviously that was clearly forced.

But I think he was so good at just knowing when to release it and how to release it, and he just knits things together really well.

He's a good player at driving with the ball, he's a good passer as well.

He's not got the range of passing that, say, Lewis Wing has.

He's not really a creative player in the same way that George Earthy is, but...

I think that's almost been one of the, one of the nicest things coming away from these last two games is, is not just, you know, the goals that we're scoring because we've proved in the past, you know, when we've, you know, beaten, you know, Carlisle 5-1 or Cambridge, you know, 4-0, et cetera.

Now, yes, they're, you know, maybe not the greatest examples of teams, et cetera, that you've beaten by a scoreline, but, It would always, we'd be relying on, you know, a Lewis Wing 30-yard screamer or, you know, really low kind of, you know, chance, chance, or chance, chances? No, XG chances, basically.

But yeah, you know, the last two games has just been an unbelievably big breath of fresh air and it's just been so nice to see.

Yeah, I think one of the things that we looked at yesterday on the way home was looking at the stats and looking at the game and having a bit of a dig into it.

So refreshing to watch and the fact that, as I said, kind of at the start, it's not, we're not reliant on, you know, these moments of magic.

Yes, they're amazing to watch.

We all love seeing, you know, a Lewis Wing scream or even, you know, Jack Marriott did it a couple of times last year, right? You know, we all love watching, you know, these amazing goals, but...

that's not going to keep you up there over the course of the season.

corners i know this one wasn't the corner it was a lewis wing free kick but particularly from corners for the first guy i can't really remember us being particularly dangerous for for quite a long time so it would be nice to see a score score more set pieces certainly because we've got got the kind of the hype, particularly in the defenders, to be able to go and cause people some problems from set pieces.

But yeah, as I said, Paul, that first goal really opened the game up because I think look at all the chances we created, right? Like, I don't know which chance would you say was the one where if it had gone in, you would have been most kind of satisfied with the ones that we didn't score it before halftime.

So it was good to be able to at least see that kind of period out because I think once it got to, well, 55, 56 minutes... reading sort of just turn the screw again and we managed to get a um managed to get the corner on the near side i think it was the near side to us in y25 and um yeah jack mary just does what jack mary does really doesn't he for the fourth goal it just finishes with a world-class finish with his left boot runs off doesn't really you know it doesn't really affect him just not yet another day in the life of jack mary really

So you don't think this is all about the Lewis Wing assist?

I mean, the header was pretty good.

I thought Reading were very smart.
