NYCFC traded a spare international roster slot to the Canadian side in exchange for $150K in game and a second-round draft pick in the 2027 MLS Super Draft.

The move allowed Toronto to finish up their summer transfer business, signing Lewis Morgan from San Diego FC, while giving NYCFC an additional opportunity to build out their squad from the draft next season, something they've done well in recent years.
