PharaohHOST
When, when, when, when it started I said, "Ah!"
Josie AnnGUEST
You wanna lose your mind.
David MasnatoGUEST
Cause it was like, you would have gotten the, wasn't Monday, September 21st.
David MasnatoGUEST
And you could have referenced Let's Groove Tonight, which has a line about a 747 in it.

MilesHOST
I think it's one of the greatest songs from that time period.
DrewHOST
Which is interesting, because apparently that song came about in the band's history in a very, very rough p- time for the band.
MilesHOST
I believe that.
DrewHOST
Um, but yeah, Let's Groove is, is such a good song.
DrewHOST
Golly.
Darren LudlowHOST
Their 1981 LP Raise included a track that had a second lease of life in 1995 when it was covered by an Australian boy band called CDB.
Darren LudlowHOST
Here's Earth, Wind & Fire's original, Let's Groove.

Joy ReidHOST
When you all are performing it, is that the song that gets people the most hype? Or is there another song that in your view is the one where everybody's like, OK, I'm getting up, I'm dancing.
Philip BaileyGUEST
Well, I think it's a toss up between that and Let's Groove.
Philip BaileyGUEST
Right.
Joy ReidHOST
Yeah.
John LamoreauxHOST
Now Michael was, is, was a session, one of those heavy, heavily used session musicians in LA in the late 70s on in through the 80s into the 90s.
John LamoreauxHOST
A couple of his key contributions are this song right here, Let's Groove from Earth, Wind & Fire.
John LamoreauxHOST
There's a lot of Michael Jackson.
John LamoreauxHOST
There's a lot of Lionel Richie.
25 MINS LATER
Michael BoddickerGUEST
I'll have to look.
Michael BoddickerGUEST
Earth, Wind & Fire, I remember really well.
Michael BoddickerGUEST
You're the guy on Let's Groove, right? That's you.
Michael BoddickerGUEST
Let's Groove.
Joshua StolteHOST
And on my right is a guy whose love will stay until December, Jovial J.
Jay ShepardHOST
Yeah, let's groove tonight, Schwa.
Jay ShepardHOST
We can take until the 12th of never, which is, I think, even beyond September and December and anything else that rhymes.
Joshua StolteHOST
Let me see if I can respond.
1 HR 10 MINS LATER
Jay ShepardHOST
Yeah.
Jay ShepardHOST
And the final one I want to point out, which is probably at this point in my life, one of my favorite Earth, Wind & Fire songs because it feels like it was ahead of its time in terms of the kind of the techno hip hop aspect to it.
Jay ShepardHOST
And that's Let's Groove.
Jay ShepardHOST
And they're using, I don't know if it's a vocoder that they're using or something else in it, but they have something that alters the singer's voice in the way that they're performing this.
Chris LathropHOST
Clever line there.
Andy JonesHOST
Bev DeVoe submitted Let's Groove.
Andy JonesHOST
That's the only Earth, Wind & Fire we have on the list.
Andy JonesHOST
I
Chris ComaratoGUEST
hope she appreciates Let's Groove.
Chris ComaratoGUEST
That's what I was going to
Chris JerichoSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
say.
Nick GlazerHOST
did that lead into Monday morning?
David MeltzerHOST
So one of the things I did is I left early on the last song, Let's Groove Tonight.
David MeltzerHOST
And what I did is I walked out with my family, but ran once we walked out.
David MeltzerHOST
to the garage, got the, cause we're on the sixth floor.
Chris WinterHOST
And there was a lot of tension after the breakup of Earth, Wind & Fire because Maurice was sad that his solo career didn't go the way that Bailey's did.
Chris WinterHOST
So anyway, September, Let's Groove Tonight, Shining Star, there's so many great Earth, Wind & Fire tracks, but we're going to put on there Fair But So Uncool on the Spotify Music Playlist Volume 5.
Chris WinterHOST
So let's get into it.
Chris WinterHOST
So tonight... you're going to stay up because you've got something going on and you're thinking to yourself, well, tomorrow I'm going to be okay.
