Les Crosets

And with technology evolving, mountain safety needs to evolve too.

And so when I thought about my kids and what they needed, and there was one particular circumstance where I had AirTagged my oldest son, and we were in Les Crosets, and I lost him coming back from ski school.

And I was like, "That's okay, I'm prepared for this." So I went and had a look at the AirTag, and it said, 25 minutes ago Loci was here.

Hmm.

To the east, you are connected to Châtel.

And to the south, you can ski straight over the peaks into the Swiss resorts of Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins, and Champoussin.

Because of its height, it gets the absolute best, most consistent snow cover in the entire domain.

Even if the lower valley resorts are struggling for snow in late April, Avoriaz is almost always fully open and snow sure.

You ski from France into Switzerland, and suddenly the currency changes from euros to Swiss francs.

The mountain huts change too.

On the French side, you're stopping for a heavy tartiflette or a fondue, but the second you cross into Les Crosets or Morgins, you are stopping at a traditional Swiss wooden buvette for a proper crispy Swiss rösti topped with fried eggs and bacon.

[laughs] Oh, the Swiss rösti is spectacular.

You pop a one or two euro coin into the slot, exactly like a supermarket trolley back home, pile your bags onto it, grab the rope, and start pulling.

Which is fine if your apartment is downhill from the welcome center But if you're staying up in the Crosets or Amara sectors, you are pulling a heavy plastic sledge uphill in ski boots at high altitude.

By the time you reach your door, you'll look like you've just run a marathon in a sauna.

It is a proper workout.
