Are there other allies that you would recommend for children? Sure.

So before we move, I just want to mention Motherwort.

Because Motherwort is for grumpy, gloomy, that black cloud is descending.

And I really find it works with kids and teenagers and the parents.

And I really kind of love- And the parents.

I love Motherwort with Skullcap because there's that gloominess, feeling overwhelmed, and that agitation.

I kind of feel like they're the Batman and Robin, the dynamic duo.

Milkweed, pleurisy root, the root cut into sections lengthwise.

Motherwort, the herb.

Mountain ash, mountain laurel, see sheep laurel, the bark of tree.

Mullein, common mullein, the leaves.

King of the Meadow.

Marsh milkweed.

Another beautiful prairie plant, two or three feet high, is found in dry and sandy soils and in rocky crevices.

They are generally coarse-looking and rough, with strong stems and strong odors, and no beauty, though in some cases the flowers are a pretty blue or rose color.

All these things, even to the summer gathering of herbs for some dear relative, become interesting to the young student, because it is a real pleasure to become familiar with the varieties which are presented in nature's domain, and the homely growths are sometimes of more importance than the ornamental, a consoling thought to such of us as are possessed of but little physical beauty.

So most herbalists are using it in formulas.

And there is a very common triplet used by herbalists as a base for a hyperthyroid-type formula, and that triplet would be the herb Bugleweed, which is Lycopus virginiana, Lemon Balm or Melissa officinalis, and Motherwort, Leonurus cardiaca.

Now this triplet of herbs is, uh, interestingly all mint family plants.

And in fact, it's been shown that most mint family plants tend to have a mildly suppressin' effect on the thyroid.

But if someone's intaking a lotta mint family plants and they have a hypothyroid pattern, uh, that's something that you definitely want to pay attention to.

Um, so this formula is really, really great base.

You know, Motherwort is, like Lemon Balm, a very specific cardiac nervine.

It's much more bitter.
