All right.

As long as I live, I will never, ever forget the feeling of standing in the K-Rock Center in Kingston, Ontario, while the Tragically Hip played their very last song at their very last show as a band.

It was Ahead by a Century, and this is a little piece of the actual live version from that very night, August 20th, 2016.

Guests will have opportunities to connect with researchers while learning about advances in the field of nuclear materials.

And there's no shortage of trivia on Thursday night as we have music trivia at Something in the Water and good old-fashioned trivia at Riverhead and Spearhead all starting at 7 p.m. On Friday, October 2nd, watch as the Kingston Fronts face the Peterborough Peets at Slush Puppy Place starting at 7pm.

Friday night, get your vocal cords ready post hockey game for Karaoke at the Buckle or Deaf Brewing both starting at 9pm.

On Saturday, head down to Springer Market Square for the Public Market from 8.30am to 5pm.

To finish off the weekend on Sunday, you can catch iconic comedy duo Tracy and Martina all the way from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia at 7.30 p.m. at the Broom Factory.

Now turning to concerts coming up this week, Monday, September 28th is welcoming the Morning Doves at Mizuki from 8 to 11 p.m., perfect for a relaxing night out backed by peaceful jazz.

If you're in the mood for some classic country, don't miss James Leclerc, an Ottawa one-man show hitting the Cove Inn from 5 to 8 p.m. For Tuesday night jams, head over to the Broom Factory to catch local indie band Two Time and Canadian rock legends Absolute Losers at 7.30 p.m. On Wednesday, September 30th, be sure not to miss Open Mic Night at Hotel Wolf Island from 7.30 to 10.30 p.m. Thursday, October 1st, kick off the month with a bit of folk and country from Country Josh at the Coven from 5 to 8 p.m. Be sure to check out Clear Breeze playing some groovy jazz at Hotel Wolf Island from 6 to 9 p.m. And don't miss Lyle Lovett and the Hello Darlings Rock the Stage at the Slush Puppy Place starting at 7.30 p.m. Friday, October 2nd, check out Lucas Oak, 16-year-old singer and musician, as he takes the stage at the Coven from 5 to 8 p.m. And you can kick off fall right with the Harvest Moon Celebration with David Markle at the Isabel Bader Center starting at 8 p.m. On Saturday night, check out the Spire for a tribute to the Eagles starting at 7 p.m. Pay homage to some of the world's greatest rock stars with the world's longest touring tribute to ACDC at the Kingston Grand Theatre at 7 p.m. And also on Saturday, you can check out the Brickhouse Polka Band at Tiernanog from 9 to midnight.

To round out the week, on Sunday, Mohawk rocker and singer-songwriter Logan Statz brings his folk tunes to the Broom Factory from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. Later Sunday afternoon, watch the Goodnight Irenes at Time Out from 3 to 5.30 p.m. And finish off your day with head over heels, bringing hardcore metal to the cove in from 5 to 8 p.m. That's a wrap on this week's events and concerts.

Ontario Street from Brock Street to Clarence Street will also be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday for the 2026 Intercultural Arts Festival.

Ontario Street from Plast Arms to Highway 2 will be fully closed to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday to allow for the temporary reopening of the LaSalle Causeway's Marine Navigation Channel.
