what if i were to just use a line i've used for a whole lot of things over the years steve it's not easy but it's simple
S
35:55Steve StewartGUEST
right i mean it's not easy but the answer is simple i mean last year we had 38 arrests at leon county at leon high school leon high school 38 arrests okay and so what was the response to that the response to that was look we can't do that again we've got to you know we we can't arrest these kids that are showing up with guns or violence and so we had six arrests last year you really think The issue improved? Or do you think they just didn't arrest people? And so, like I said, they want to blame something that is disconnected from what the real problem is.

have to have logical open and honest dialogue and conversation with each other we have to understand what the true value of education that we're getting and for some superintendents like in leon county with uh superintendent rocky hanna who's just attached to the union leaders here all he's doing is just saying we're never going to get rid of another teacher we're never going to get rid of these things instead of actually looking at it and trying to figure out okay where is the waste where are those individuals not giving the best to our students And are there any ways that we can get even high performers to do even more and incentivize them? The way that we look at how we're funding our teachers is hamstrung because of the unions, when in reality, a lot of these teachers, especially the best ones, want to be around other teachers that are the best.
