LenDale White

They called him the Bachelor for a reason.

That's LenDale White, the running back.

It was just crazy, man, and Matt was the face of it all.

Leinart gravitated towards others who could relate.

He says he hooked up with a celebritude just by being around.

So you could imagine the guys like Reggie and Matt, and, uh, dude, I'll ride those coattails any day 'cause w- we had a hell of a time.

LenDale White fell in love with that life the first night he hit the Sunset Strip.

He was a star running back recruit at the time, so of course Holmes hosted him.

And Sam Baker is the left tackle.

Lendale White now comes in with second down and about four.

And White trying to get that first down.

Gets up to about the 15-yard line.

was a blitz where it was blocked up good, but Maurice Crum, Trevor Laws, just driving their men back into Leinert and in doing so, able to get a deflection on that football.

Third down and 15 to go for Southern California with three seconds left in the first quarter.

Lendale White has come into the play tailback.

Reggie Bush now becomes a wide receiver and a slot to the right.

Too tight end set.

Now Lindale White, the freshman, comes in to the USC backfield.

They fake it to him.

And the throw is complete to Gunther, the tight end, and he's going to have another first down, it appears, or awfully close to it.

It's a quick release, and he gets it to where it's going very quickly.

Decisions are made in a hurry, and they're usually the right ones.

Up the middle, and this is going to be a loss for Lindale White.

Jared Page made the stop from the secondary.

So it's funny that you guys interned together.

Um, you missed the LenDale White and Reggie Bush and, uh, Matt Leinart years at USC, though.

You know, I, we all enjoyed everything that encompassed USC football during those days.

[laughs]
