This has something to do with the upcoming crossover miniseries, which apparently is canon to the Marvel Universe, not the Star Wars Universe, but the Marvel Universe, because Star Wars is a fictional story inside of Marvel, as we've seen from the films.

But actor, director, Marvel Comics writer Kevin Smith couldn't be more delighted to get to play in the worlds of Marvel and Star Wars because he's the one writing the Hope Assembles lineup, which comes out in January.
