So I appreciate you coming on to talk about politics because obviously legislation affects what we do as rental property owners and real estate investors.

We just had the primaries here in August.

That oath has never been changed.

If you look on legislation.gov, the coronation oath, you'll find that it's exactly the same form as it was in 1688.

This is the same year as the Bill of Rights.

The whole thing is interlinked.

And they altered the oath and they took out certain words.

They keep on jiggling it around.

But although the original oath is still shown in legislation.gov… No monarch has actually sworn it.

Why is that? Because the executive, and the executive appeared in 1714, was taking control.

What role do politics play in the points and miles game? Very little, very, a very small role, but then a very big role all at the same time.

Legislation-wise right now, the last major piece of legislation that really overhauled banking and overhauled and put pause to people with the points and miles game is the Durbin amendment as part of the Dodd-Frank Act from the great financial crisis.

It made debit earning pretty much impossible for points.

It capped interchange fees, and it made it so that banks with certain number, with a certain amount of assets under management couldn't offer rewards earning debit cards.
