That is absolutely fantastic.

Some of the past beneficiaries for the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival last year, Culinary Institute of the Pacific, the Hawaii Ag Foundation, Imua Family Services, the Hawaii Community College, Maui College, Leeward Community College, Kauai Community College.

And it's just this is one of those organizations that really gives back so that it can cultivate the talent that is coming out of Maui as we build really the Hawaiian, the Polynesian cuisine, have it all married together.

Also, one thing about Hawaii, and specifically in Maui, and even more specifically the Kwanapali Beach Resort, is that it really does justice to the rich history and culture of Hawaii.

So that department is partnering with, uh, Leeward Community College for the c- college's first biosecurity academy.

Applications are open now, and the idea is that 20 students will, uh, be selected for the academy, which starts next month and ends in March of next year.

And according to Big Island Now, the students will work with the department to check cargo at airports and harbors to ensure that, a, a fast response to any invasive species or pests across the state.
