She teams up with a cab driver played by Bruce Willis.

Interestingly, some of the most influential costumes in the film were not designed for main characters.

Like at one point, Leeloo and Dallas go on a space shuttle that's more like a luxury cruise liner in space.

The flight attendants are wearing periwinkle blue uniforms that play with which areas of the costume reveal skin.

But that is like, I was tearing up and I couldn't believe it.

I was tearing up in the moment where Leeloo smashes into Corbin Dallas's cab and the police are there like, you have to cooperate.

And he's like, yeah, yeah, all right.

And she sees the little charity for some children's thing in his cab that says, please help.

not an asshole he's not some gruff asshole um this even gives bruce willis one of the best one-liners i think of his career you know after he shoots the alien in the head and says anybody else want to negotiate and it's so again not only is it a great line but like one of the reasons it's a great line is that it's rhythmically perfect and it was only rhythmically perfect when it's complimented by just how fucking good the edit is in this movie i can't

Cannot understate how good the edit is.

When he's driving in the taxi cab and you see Leeloo in the back, you know, getting thrown around by gravity and she's just, you know, yelling her alien language at him.

He's like, look, lady, I only speak two languages, English and bad English.

But they have the mind and innocence and social experience of a child or a newcomer.

And the example that people often give is Leeloo in The Fifth Element.

But Splash, I think, is another prime example of that.

She comes onto dry land.

And then we get the double chase, right? Like you said, it turns into an action film because we have man on man.

We've got Steve Zahn on Timothy and Mila Jovovich turns into Leeloo.

when she pursues Gina, it's, it's a cool moment when they have her run at her in slow motion.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Oh wait, is that the scene where Leeloo beats them all up with kung fu?

Yeah, yeah.

It's during the singing.

It's like a god, so it comes back every 5,000 years.

So, like, the cultists are like, we've discovered a way to make it more.

And then Leeloo is just like, Corbin, chicken.

So, here's some cast comments I found.

A supreme being made of pure light and stitched-together stones is Earth's only defense against an ancient evil that returns every 5,000 years.

That being, Leeloo, literally falls into the cab of Korben Dallas, a washed-up ex-special forces major turned taxi driver.

And together they race to reunite the four elemental stones before a ruthless arms dealer named Zorg sells Earth out from under everyone.

And that is the summation.
