Lee Soo-man, the founder of S&M Entertainment, who now leads A20 Entertainment as chief producer, celebrated his new girl group's first-place win in a very generous way.

Industry reports say a video posted on October 22 showed him at a popular barbecue restaurant near Yaksu Station in Seoul, where he rang the so-called Golden Bell, a tradition meaning he was picking up the tab for every customer in the house.

In the clip, he calls out, Enjoy your meal! to the diners, who answer with cheers, applause and chants of his name while he raises both arms with a big smile.

Rookie boy group A2O Seoul is getting ready to debut with their first album called Superstar, which drops on November 9th at 6pm Korean time.

The group is already turning heads as the first boy group producer Lee Soo-man has introduced since leaving SM, and they've described their sound as a fresh take on what they call new synthwave.

The album features five songs, including a double-title track setup with Superstar and a second song called Dancing in the Dark, with top writers like producer Yoo Young-jin and Han Kenta, who has worked with major pop stars, lending a hand.

The early signs are promising, since the superstar music video landed at number 18 on YouTube's trending music chart soon after its release, and the song also reached number 2 on QQ Music's new song chart, number 6 on its popular song chart, and number 4 on its global music video chart.

They released only a digital single with no physical album, yet Neon has stayed at number one on Melon's Top 100 for six days in a row, and it has also topped Spotify's career chart and YouTube Music's music video chart.

Industry reports say the members thanked producers Lee Soo-man and Yoo Young-jin in their acceptance speech and promised to keep working hard to become artists people can be proud of.

They also performed Neon live during the encore stage, showing off smooth vocals, and fans can catch them next on Show Champion on the 21st.

Seventeen's unit duo, Jeonghan and Joshua, are earning international praise for their debut mini album, Dreamscape, which dropped on the 19th.

Now, after debuting, debuting, um, not one but two idol acts, the legendary industry titan seems to still have the Midas touch as his new girl band, A2O Light, shattered K-pop chart records by hitting number one on the Melon 100 chart in an astounding 29 hours, the fastest rise to the top of the K-pop charts since the new chart system was established in 2021.

So Bernie, the obvious question is: What makes this particular band so unique, if not actually familiar?

Well, again, um, for a lot of critics, and I think it's safe to say a lot of the fans, new fans, 'cause they're a brand-new band, um, it was a little bit of old and new Um, in the sense that, uh, number one, the old factor was not Lee Soo-man.
