Lean on Me

happy to have you back.

He'll calm you with his love and delight you with his songs.

He'll calm you with his love.

He'll delight you with his songs.

Isn't that wonderful? And that same tender God, he's also solid as a rock.

Which brings us to Isaiah 26, 4.

He'll send you an angel.

He'll send you a song.

Oh, yeah.

So, yeah, he can only sing like four or five songs, and then he loses it.

But it's like an all-star tribute, kind of like the Sabbath thing.

Guns N' Roses is going to play there.

I'm flapping my feet.

I'm flapping wings.

I'm singing Seahawks songs, dude.

I got Jim Zorn on my mind today.

See how they shine

Another song that you covered is another classic, Bill Withers, Lean On Me.

You kept the lyrics intact, but you gave that music a whole new flavor.

Why don't you tell us about that?

Hey, everybody.

This is Stephen Stanley, and you've got The Antidote, where Christian music doesn't suck.

Sometimes in our lives We all have pain We all have sorrow But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow Lean on me when you're not strong And I'll be your friend, I'll help you go

Somebody to lean

Still Bill was released on May 1st, 1972, and reached number one on the Billboard Soul Albums chart and number four on the Billboard 200 Album chart.

The closing number of side one of the album, Lean On Me, was an ode to the power of friendship.

For the recording of the song, several members of the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band backed Withers.

Ten days before the album's release, on April 21st, 1972, Lean On Me was released as the lead single from Still Bill.

On June 24th, Lean On Me reached number one on the Billboard Soul Singles chart.

Then the week of July 8th, 1972, it hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, where it remained for three weeks.

It was Withers' second gold single with confirmed sales in excess of three million.

In 2007, the 1972 recording of the song by Bill Withers on Sussex Records was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

No, I actually love this a lot

... bone.

We've got feathers and bone and leather as their primary clothing r- rather than metal, with great wooden masks if masks are needed.

So basically it's that sort of idea.

Technology for them, they're not gonna have things like guns.

... is probably the weight.

So if you have people-

Yeah, those are probably the heavier ones with like bone-

Uh, I think he had a lot of, um, emotional, um, [smacks lips] struggles going on inside, none of which I really understood at the time.

Did he write Lean on Me?

Yes.

Yeah.

I'm sure you'll change your mind, too.

This is Club Nov- Nouveau, Lean On Me.

Some time in our life, we all have pain, we all have sorrow.

But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow.

Lean on me, when you're not strong.

I'll be your friend.

I'll be your friend.

I'll help you carry on.

But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow.

Lean on me, when you're not strong.

And I'll be your friend.

I'll be your friend.

I'll help you carry on.

Lean on me.

For it won't be long, 'til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on.

Please swallow your pride.
