League Leaders' Shield

We've gotta hit the ground running.

You know, w- we're, we're, we're smarting after a, um, i- in some respects, a disappointing season in the fact that we weren't in the grand final again and we didn't retain the League Leaders Shield.

So, you know, we're chasing silverware once again.

We need to hit the ground running, and Nathan, no doubt whatsoever, will have that same a- attitude.

Uh, I'll never forget that one.

Was it at, uh, Huddersfield in the dying seconds to get the, uh, to get the League Leaders' Shield? Uh, that was a, that was a great try.

Yeah.

He's got-

But then you sort of brush over that because they're so far ahead in the league.

They didn't even end up winning The League Leaders Shield, which they limped over the line in that in second.

Their season sort of collapsed in three weeks.

When they got beat, uh, at home to Castleford.

Yeah.

And, and, uh, f- from there, I think that put a lot of doubt in, in their own minds about what they were gonna actually... uh, how they were gonna actually end up.

Um, they ended up in a position, didn't they, where they'd lost the week before and then, uh, they had to beat, they had to beat Wigan, didn't they, to then carry off The League Leaders Shield, and got hammered.

Mm.

I go back to what I said a few weeks ago.

Look at who's won the League Leaders' Shield over the years.

We'd have had far more names on that.

People would argue maybe Leeds would have tried a bit harder back in the day.
