Some of them are around sort of, I don't know, 800 cc engines feed twins so they're relatively big engines but they give you a lawnmower motor so um but they still go pretty good

well i actually haven't seen the track because it's being hosted by the hawks bay lawnmower racing club they had a good event last year we went down to their um their local event which was the east coast champs and they had a good track down there it's the same place i think it's going to be a good flowing track there'll be a few tight corners to challenge you but a few straights as well to crank them up to get a speed in them as well hopefully it'll be a driver's track so um you know it'll level everybody up you can have all the power in the world but you still gotta go around the corners so uh yeah it should be a good we've got uh i believe nearly 40 entries um into the racing for the weekend so yeah i'm looking forward to it the weather's gonna be great we booked the weather so it's gonna be awesome

put 20 bucks of fuel and then race all day but of course now that 20 bucks of fuel was probably nearly 40 or 50 bucks of fuel to race for the day but in the scale of things you know that's nothing compared to you know running a top fuel dragster or a drift car or anything like that where you're spending hundreds of dollars a day on gas you might spend 50 bucks in the day which is still affordable for the average person to go out there for days racing

Can you tell us about some of the rules that the national champs will have?
B
3:15Barry DaweGUEST
Okay, so the big thing to think about with the rules of lawnmower racing is that we're racing lawnmowers.
B
3:21Barry DaweGUEST
So you have to start with a lawnmower and you have to have the majority of the lawnmower as part of what you've built.
