TomHOST
55:20
There's loads of creepypastas and things about it.
TomHOST
55:23
Lavender Town is where you get all sort of ghastly and Gengar, you know, and all the ghost ones.
TomHOST
55:30
But it's sort of like this...
TomHOST
55:32
If I remember rightly, there's this...

PeterHOST
76:02
All right.
PeterHOST
76:02
Well, chat, next week the episode is going to follow the theme of Lavender Town for Halloween.
PeterHOST
76:10
And that should be a lot of fun.
PeterHOST
76:12
So definitely enjoy that.
PeterHOST
76:48
That's right.
PeterHOST
76:49
Choose your favorite Pokemon or something.
PeterHOST
76:52
That's Lavender Town.
PeterHOST
76:53
Pretty sure.
NateHOST
54:09
we're going to the truck or we're finding missing now?
BenHOST
54:13
I assume you've heard about Lavender Town Syndrome.
BenHOST
54:25
All right.
BenHOST
54:25
This is a very short one.
BenHOST
54:31
The Lavender Town Syndrome, also known as Lavender Town Tone or Lavender Town Suicides.
BenHOST
54:41
was a peak in suicides and illnesses of children between the ages of 7 to 12 shortly after the release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan back in February 27th, 1996.
BenHOST
54:55
Okay.
BenHOST
54:59
Rumors say that these suicides and illnesses occurred after the children playing the game reached Lavender Town.
RenHOST
45:06
Because, like, they're believable.
RenHOST
45:07
Like, the whole Lavender Town sound being played backwards causes kids to...
RenHOST
45:14
Unalive themselves like that was believable enough that like kids didn't try it because like But I think creepypastas are a part of Modern culture or younger people.
RenHOST
45:30
I think like if you were to introduce like a 50 year old person to creepypastas in general like there are people that probably experience them live, you know the image boards
RicarioHOST
39:46
Similarly with this, like, yeah, it's spooky season.
RicarioHOST
39:50
Yes, we're getting Lavender Town music, but it seems like every kind of thing or feature is which makes the Halloween event what it is, has just been removed or reduced in such a way where it's like, well, what's even the point? Like, why call this a Halloween event if we're just getting a sprinkling of, you know, some ghost spawns? You know, like, there's not really a lot of incentive there.
RicarioHOST
40:18
Like, even if it was a compromise in terms of Mimikyu, give us the Pikachu in a Mimikyu costume.
RicarioHOST
40:24
I know a lot of people have been begging for that to come back.
ChrisHOST
23:11
And then a real cool addition they have that, you know, we never turn on the music.
ChrisHOST
23:19
But if you do, you'll get Lavender Town music, which is a remix of the Lavender Town music from the first generation of Pokemon.
ChrisHOST
23:33
And that will be playing nightly during this event.
ChrisHOST
23:39
So turn it on if you want to listen for a little bit.
Dan PHOST
12:20
The game was Pokemon Red and Green.
Dan PHOST
12:24
The hoax was Haunted Lavender Town and the Lavender Town Syndrome.
Dan PHOST
12:28
So do you know anything about this? Play Pokemon Red and Green? No.
Dan PHOST
12:32
No,
Dan PHOST
13:40
It's insane.
Dan PHOST
13:41
But this one is slightly crazier, this story linked to Pokemon.
Dan PHOST
13:46
So Lavender Town appears in, and I sound really knowledgeable about this because obviously I am, it appears in pokemon red green and blue and it's one of the darker locations so it's home to pokemon tower which is a cemetery for deceased pokemon right and when you go in there you can apparently so this is why i wanted to do this now and not at the end it's like finish on a happier one well not for you but that's a whole other whole other story you'll come to Now, the town's music is also very different from the cheery music elsewhere in it.
Dan PHOST
14:18
So all of that is true.
Kimberly SpiritGUEST
38:19
I don't know, I just like the idea of them.
Kimberly SpiritGUEST
38:23
I like the Lavender Town section of the game.
Kimberly SpiritGUEST
38:28
I'm actually built from Lavender Town when I'm announced.
Kimberly SpiritGUEST
38:31
And It's funny, though.
Kimberly SpiritGUEST
38:38
If you ask me what my favorite Pokemon is, it's Slowpoke.
Nathaniel BandyHOST
69:04
I'm trying to think if there's anything that really scared me.
Nathaniel BandyHOST
69:06
You know what? i had i remember having a weird nightmare about lavender town and pokemon red and blue
NicoHOST
69:14
okay
Nathaniel BandyHOST
69:14
and really the only thing that scared me as a kid was just the music because the music was really really creepy and i remember i had a dream when i was like i think i was like seven where i was playing pokemon red and blue i was in lavender town and for some reason i was like just in like the town itself walking around but i was able to walk diagonally And in my brain, I'm like, how am I walking diagonally? This isn't possible.
Nathaniel BandyHOST
69:37
And then that freaked me out for some reason.
Nathaniel BandyHOST
69:41
And then I woke up.
