Laval Rouge et Or women's basketball

They didn't have a perfect weekend, but after a clear loss to UBC, they came back the next day and produced their strongest result against the defending Canada West champion.

Laval also had an emerging weekend.

They beat Santa Fex by 8, lost to UNB by 6, then finished by beating Guelph by 18.

Laval is already an established program, so the fact that they can win games is not the surprise, but stand out the way they finished the weekend after a competitive loss the day before.

Now, the women's team that remains worth watching is UBCO.

They are 6-0 now, and at some point you stop calling them a nice start and you start asking a different question.

Now, one of the other very interesting teams is Montreal University men's basketball program.

They are in the trending up section.
