Laurelhurst

The race for Washington's 43rd legislative district will be a matchup between Washington's Senate majority leader and a progressive challenger who says the incumbent hasn't done enough to make the district more affordable.

Senator Jamie Peterson currently holds the seat in the progressive district, which includes Seattle's Capitol Hill, Laurelhurst, Eastlake and Wallingford neighborhoods.

He's the lawmaker behind the landmark millionaire's tax that Washington passed earlier this year.

Peterson has represented the district for almost two decades and earned endorsements from Washington Governor Bob Ferguson and Attorney General Nick Brown.

I'm like, well, yeah, that's good.

So, you know, it's just the reality that my day-to-day life isn't always as connected with neighborhoods.

Another example of that, you know, Laurelhurst and Denny Blaine were not part of the 43rd District when I originally ran that.

So although I doorbell a lot in my first campaign and got to know really all of the neighborhoods pretty well, I had never spent any time to speak of in Laurelhurst or Denny Blaine.

Wallace claimed to insiders that Gates' penchant for socializing with women remained even after he started dating Melinda Gates in 1987.

Gates was allegedly known to invite friends to swim naked at his bachelor pad in Laurelhurst, where he rounded up dancers from local all-nude nightclubs, Wallace said.

Yeah, kind of like, you know, the naked volleyball player in Martha's Vineyard over there, huh? Alan Dershowitz, what's with all of these so-called elites wanting to run around naked? What's with all of these people trying to have their meat flap in the wind? Here's an idea.

Put on some clothes, shut the fuck up, and try not to be a disgusting imbecile.

When I was interviewing for residency twenty-five years ago, I knew that Seattle Children's was one of the top places to be, and it really reflects just generations of investment and people who have given of themselves to make it what it is today.

So of course, founded in 1907 by Anna Clise and a group of women, originally in a different location, moved to the current Laurelhurst location in the '50s, and just tremendous investment over the years that's allowed not only the hospital, but now the Seattle Children's Research Institute to thrive through our foundation.

And the work that we do, for example, in uncompensated care is unbelievable.

On an annual basis, we raise enough funds for uncompensated care to make it easy for us to ensure a family going through a health crisis doesn't also have a financial crisis.

So we partner with organizations to provide that quaternary care.

Today, of course, that may mean flying into SeaTac and traveling through the Seattle traffic, which I'm learning a lot about.

But one of the really exciting parts of our future is that we've purchased some land in Renton, and so we're planning a second campus in addition to our existing Laurelhurst campus that'll be based in Renton.

And so super excited to, uh, share more about that in the coming weeks, but I think that the Renton proximity to SeaTac is gonna make it possible for us to continue to deliver on that mission across a million square miles.
