Launceston General Hospital

Well, that was the conclusion of our two-part conversation with Ken and Lynn Overton, who have both survived near-death health issues five years apart.

Just to recap, Ken spent 102 days on life support in intensive care in Launceston General Hospital, recovering from life-threatening pancreatic necrosis and multiple organ failure.

Again, doctors gave him little chance of survival, but Ken beat insurmountable odds.

So that's why we are continuing to invest in primary care, although that is... responsibility of the federal government, but we're also investing across our hospital system as well.

We recently, in the last 12 months, we've opened the new surgical robot at the Launceston General Hospital.

This is a really key piece of equipment for women's health and for those gynaecological surgeries.
