Laughing Hyenas

It's classic hardcore, highly influential, highly revered, just not the type of hardcore that I've really ever gotten into.

I much prefer John Brennan's subsequent bands, Laughing Hyenas and Easy Action, but Negative Approach in the top 100 definitely belongs.

I'm sure it does.

I'm not a band that I've ever really spent much time with, to be honest.

Oh, no.

He served as the front man for the Laughing Hyenas and Easy Action.

His father was a minister and would take preaching jobs moving between New York, New Jersey, and Michigan.

Oh, no.

And, um, I think, like, certain vocalists have, like, shown me that you don't have to be, like, an amazing, like, singer or actual singer to be able to, like, really, um, like you said, emote and really, like, have vocals that are still, like, understandable and, and somehow, like, melodic.

Like what John Brannon did in Laughing Hyenas, for example, is like, it's still quite extreme, but you can sing along very easily, and there's, like, melody in there.

Um, even Rollins, like, uh, if you look at his discog- discography, the Rollins Band disc- discography, the further you go, the more he leans into a more melodic approach in his own unique way.

Like s- the earlier record was just, like, super angry and, like, talk, scream, talk, scream type shit, but he, he also leans into some more melodic s- stuff later on.
