Larry DiTillio

Maybe it's because I just don't have the nostalgia for it.

Maybe it's because it was a time crunch, 'cause JMS and Larry DiTillio, as we'll talk about-

Larry DiTillio.

When I came across this creature, I thought to myself, "I've seen this before.

This is definitely in a scenario that I have." And so I went to the front credits, and I saw that the Chakota was credited to the late Larry DiTillio.

Now, if you like science fiction and fantasy, you might be familiar with Larry DiTillio as a writer on cartoons like He-Man and She-Ra or, uh, the Transformers show Beast Wars, or as the story editor on Babylon 5, which was of course a show created by fellow She-Ra alum J. Michael Straczynski.

Now, at one point, apparently during a writer's strike, DiTillio did some writing for role-playing games, and he wrote various things for Flying Buffalo and Chaosium contributed to a lot of different things, but probably the most famous is Masks of Nyarlathotep, the Call of Cthulhu campaign, widely regarded as one of the best RPG campaigns.

I mean, indeed, it picked up an Origins Award.

You know, he just kinda decided to do some game writing, wrote Masks of Nyarlathotep, won an Origins Award, did a few other bits and bobs, and then when the strike ended, went back to Hollywood.

Now, I assume that Larry DiTillio worked in the Los Angeles area for most of his life because that's where, you know, these things are made, I suppose.

But, uh, I don't know, he had...
