For example, they called bands such as the Libertines and the Paddingtons Grottenroll.

The chorus itself is a masterclass in irritation.

Happy Zanny exposes itself as fun and catchy, but really just annoying two-dimensional chart fodder.

But Larrakin Love did have reasons to be choking with fear as they told Loud and Quiet.

And I would say Australian English is particularly masculine.

I mean, it's been something that's very much been owned by those kind of stereotypical, archetypical characters like the Bushman and the Digger and the Larrikin and those kind of characters which tend to be gendered male.

And so we do need to be very careful in how we kind of think about Australian English, both in terms of its broader story, so that it actually also includes words that aren't just the kind of crikeys and, you know, good days, but also, you know, thinking about who gets represented in those quotations.

So making sure that women writers are included in that we've got a real diversity, particularly in recent decades where we have a much more diverse literature, that Indigenous writers get represented, migrant writers get represented.
