So we had Zendaya.

She dressed up as Halle Berry in this Lanvin bikini and pants from the X-Men premiere.

Oh, I

love it.

And at the time, Robert Ricci, who was the son of Nina Ricci, came up with the idea of an art exhibition and fashion show.

basically showcase one third scale mannequin models which would have all the couture garments placed on them and it was a traveling show and it meant that they could cut fabric costs because these mannequins were so tiny and basically exhibit collections so that the higher class could go in see a dress that they liked and basically order it on the spot and the likes of Hermes, Balmain, Lanvin they all did the same there was a 60 different designers all across Europe and America And it was really popular.

And also at the time, obviously social media wasn't a thing.

And it was the first chance as well that anyone could actually go see these traveling exhibitions.

I mean, can you go into a Goodwill in Los Angeles and find a Goyard trunk? Maybe not.

But can you go to an estate sale in Orange Park, Florida or something and find, you know, a vintage Lanvin dress from the 1960s? Probably.

I do this thing called the world's longest yard sale every year, which is as crazy as it sounds.

It's six states from Alabama to Michigan.

Can you tell us like the significance of that and why it was such an incredible story?

Yeah, well, my grandmother and I had been estate sailing all day and we had really, really good luck.

I got a strand of Chanel pearls that morning and then we went to an estate sale on the other side of town and I got two vintage Lanvin dresses for like $5 each.

They were just in, it was like not even a fancy house.

I suppose you could call them dupes or take their style and try to find it myself in the areas like Urban Outfitters or American Apparel or thrift stores, right? Wherever I was shopping at the moment.

I remember there was one photo of Mary-Kate Olsen stepping out in this gorgeous red Lanvin coat.

It was a fall coat.

It went all the way to the floor.

And as someone who has historically only liked, you know, black, white, gray, etc., that bold of a color statement, especially on the Olsen twins.

God.

caught my eye and I don't know what it was but that image is ingrained in my mind that red Lanvin coat is ingrained in my mind and I looked at this coat and I said I want that coat for those of you who don't know the designer Lanvin that coat is very expensive I'm sure over $2,000 for this coat and And as I sat there, a college dropout, age 20, looking at a red Lanban coat that was $2,000, it filled me with an aspirational hope of one day I will wear that coat.

And this is where fashion and materialism and consumerism overlap, but I think people misinterpret that overlapping aspect.

Bring me some stuff." And I'm like, "Ugh." Fine, I'll go there.

And I bring her this, uh, vintage Lanvin dress, an Alaïa dress, and probably it was something else, and she end up wearing this multicolored polyester [laughs] Lanvin dress from the '70s.

I wasn't trying to be a stylist.

I was just literally helping-

Yeah.

It's this like crushed royal blue coat with this gray pleated skirt by Lanvin.

This pink knitted hat, taupe gloves, like a floral clutch.

And it just like the contrast of the pink and the navy blue.

The clothes aren't wearing her, which is my issue with In Just Like That.

So she's wearing a gray glitter star sweater by Sonia Reichel, a gray pleated skirt by Lanvin, this purple coat, which is like a velvet.

I wouldn't say it's purple.
