Lansing Lugnuts

'Cause I know, I know Quad Cities has that same kind of upper club level memorabilia and that kind of thing, 'cause I've, I've heard about it.

Jesse Goldberg-Strozelaar, the radio guy for the Lansing Lugnuts, he w- he was, I was listening to them when they were in town earlier this season, and he was talking about that one of the games I, you know, I was listening at work instead of, instead of my podcast.

[laughs] I was like, "Oh, I can listen to the Lugnuts.

They've got a noon game down the road.

And his abilities...

I remember one day specifically, and we were in Lansing, we were playing the Lugnuts, and he had gone four for four at the plate against three different guys who were throwing in the upper 90s to the triple digits.

And they were coming from both sides, righty and lefty.

So he was literally hitting.

From there, Jesse hands out the Lugnuts final report card before we expand our focus and present the 2026 A's Bar System Awards.

Finally, we close the season with Jesse's final words on the players, moments, and stories that defined 2026 Lansing Lugnuts.

Jesse, let's start with the final week.

As far as wins and losses, it didn't go as planned, but...

Dominated in Stockton.

Comes up to Lansing, I would argue, and I talked with my broadcast partner Adam Jackson about this.

He is the Lansing Lugnuts Player of the Year in 2026 in terms of the length of time, and what he did to carry the offense.

And then he goes up to double A, and he's hitting something like 600.

Yeah.

There's Lansing Lugnuts, Vlad Jr.

Yes.

Lansing Lugnuts.

Wow.

Well,

and so the backyard baseball ones are also Lansing Lugnuts.

So shout out to them for being early on the backyard baseball promos because

The Great Lakes Boones.

The Lugnuts at home have been unstoppable.

And on the road, it's been the opposite.

And so this is a road trip.

When we look at the hitting side, were they just facing tough-notch pitchers?

So I think there's a couple of things going on.

The Lugnuts had a number of players who got promoted up to AA.

By the way, Ali Camarillo, pretty good.

Kim completed twenty-seven of thirty-eight passes for two hundred and seventy-nine yards as the Eagles earned their five-hundredth win in program history.

In Middle West League baseball, Lansing defeated Great Lakes nine to five.

West Michigan beat Peoria nine to one, and it was Wisconsin over South Bend eleven to ten.

Tonight in high school boys' soccer, tonight in high school boys' soccer, St. Joe is at Harper Creek.

This week, Grayson Guedes launched baseballs into Lansing night.

Pedro Pineda decided three hits weren't quite enough, and Jared Davis showed up and immediately started driving in everybody he could find.

Then the pitching staff slammed the door with back-to-back shutouts to finish the week.
