Lander University

[laughs] That was the kind of deal I had, I guess, while I was there.

But I, I, I loved every day that I was at Lander University and working on the, on the forum newspaper, who by the way, had a story about our podcast when we hit number one a couple years ago.

Uh, and what I thought we would do during the rest of this season, because I, I, I went, I went there and started writing stories occasionally for the paper in February, and by the time the Packwood story was hitting, hitting it big in September, it was...

I mean, it was a long 33 months, as you could tell by our, uh, our special series on him.

I'm proud of my time at Lander.

And when I left, we had a column.

I was the staffer of the year for two years of exemplary service at the Forum, Lander University student newspaper.

And politically speaking with Randall Wallace, the last column was not politics this time.

And then, you know, I was staying with them for study hall at night till 9 PM and not making a cent, but I loved it.

Like that, that moment changed the entire trajectory of, my career i think to this day i think his name is jancy walker's first guy ever hired me and i i mean we talked to this day and i thank him for that because without that moment i don't think there's any chance that i would continue to move up in college coaching um you know so that's the first part i would say the second one would be a story when i first got my head coach when it got the head coaching job at lander university you know coming from uncp You know, we had a lot of financial assistance from boosters and things of that nature.

So we were kind of allowed to do, you know, if we're going recruiting, we could probably take a hotel.

It wasn't a big deal.

all right, like that's pretty good.

Um, so that, that was kind of my interview there as an assistant, as a head coach, you know, I was interviewing at Lander.

Um, Brian Reese is the athletic director at Lander university.

He's a phenomenal guy.
