Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

the only rear wheel drive Audi was the R8 RWS and then they had the rear wheel drive version later.

Just reminded me of a very funny story when I was in Cars House and someone was telling me about they'd seen their partner had bought a Evoque.

It's a company vehicle.

And they had come screaming into the house seeing this vehicle.

It has to be the smallest SUV possible.

So it's subcompact luxury SUV, and it's the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, but it's only got a 1.5. 0.2 percent chance of getting to uh to 250 000 miles so uh it's the longest lasting one in that category but none of that category has got a very good shot at getting there you know and then you go to compact it's the rdx with a 6.7 percent chance the acura and then mid-size is lexus gx 23.3 and the luxury full size back to the mercedes g-class at a 17.3 percent chance

so much there's like minutiae there like the land rover i was going to ask you later on about like are there any real outliers that land rover seems like the probably the biggest outlier of the group right um yeah the rdx is interesting too because i i'd be curious um i don't know how you'd have to really dig into the data for this but to see like you know the early turbocharged versions that was like ages ago i i don't know if those held up as well uh and then they basically moved to like you know the v6 that honda's used in kind of every single product that's larger than a certain size since and that's one of those like it doesn't really have to work that hard to move a vehicle that size around.

My father-in-law has an RDX with a V6, and it's like, yep, it's a good old reliable V6, right?

after school after school so i went to school high school then i done engineering i studied as an engineer so i'm an engineer i done that for uh so i've done a five-year course and between that i went to liverpool and worked in the factory see Jaguar Land Rover they've got a factory in the south of Liverpool where they build the Discovery Sport and they build the Range Rover Evoque so I was on the launch of the see the 19 Evoque is when they change the shape from you know the bulky one to the sleek so I was on the launch and that was a brand new car there was only three or four components that were the same as the old one everything else they changed and i was on the electrical side of it because i was studying mechanical electrical engineering and it was a massive job they gave me i'll be honest with you i wasn't expecting that much of a heavy task right so basically my job was they're building the a new car right so they build six at a time right then they ramp up to like eight at a time then ten at a time and they every stage they're trying to see what's wrong with the cars and there's a lot of electrical problems a lot of software issues and my job was to basically get all the fine all the data from what's the the cars the problems and feed that to the engineers and get them to fix it as a

19 year old

and they would put me in the meetings there with the operations director with all the gaffers right and i'm sitting there reporting on And I'm like, what, have they not got anyone else to do this? And they did have someone else to do this, but they sent him, he had to go and launch another car.
