Land Rover Freelander 2

Like...

I saw quite a few new models in in my time that I was there and it was Freelander 2 and that was new.

I remember the first one of them arriving.

It was like, wow, this is completely different.

I moved to Harley Davidson, which in many ways is wonderfully similar.

You buy the bike as a deposit on the accessories and lifestyle.

To be fair, there was a Freelander 2 somewhere in that period, so I was never completely escaped.

A change in lifestyle saw my wife and I move to a farm in Kent.

It's just there.

I was exactly the same with my Freelander 2 when I had the roof tent on that, my Vicky Wood roof tent.

It was a great bit of kit while I had it, but now I don't have the roof tent.

I'm like, well, it's not even me that drives the grey one.

1,500 quid is a tall order.

It is a tall order.

I would ignore Freelander 2s at that price.

Okay.

But, uh- To, I mean, that's a bit of a...

I mean, we could do that every week, can't we? D- drive somewhere and look, talk about Land Rovers, but- It wasn't 'til I edited that podcast, I thought, "Oh, Freelander 2's lovely and quiet.

That'll be perfect to record in." No.

You see, the last time we did that, we were in a Discovery 5- Discovery 5 ... and it was silky smooth.

... people.

Um, spoke to a chap, in fact, he listens to this very podcast, uh, Mike, in his Freelander 2.

Um, transpires he, he's did his apprenticeship at Land Rover on the production line at various stages back in the 1990s.

Right.

Never owned a Land Rover until three years ago, so he bought himself a Freelander 2, and, uh-

He chose a great example

I mean, we're rocking a

14-plate Freelander 2 down the toll

road.

And look, in our lane now, ahead of us, is only one other car.

He smiled.

He's keen for a quick rip.

The Freelander 2 held its own then, did you

see it? To be honest, it did.
