This is the Raw Shock Argentina update from the 1st of October 2026, a quick summary of what's going down in Argentina.

On Tuesday the 29th, the Supreme Court overturned a lower court ruling that had blocked President Milei's repeal of the Land Law.

For context, the original 2011 law prevented foreign entities and individuals from owning more than 15% of rural land across national, provincial, or municipal territories.

Shortly after taking office in 2023, Milei issued an emergency deregulation decree that eliminated the Land Law to attract international capital.

Federal courts quickly suspended that repeal following legal challenges, keeping the limits active for nearly three years.

However, the Supreme Court now overturned that ruling, reinstating the repeal clause from the 2023 decree and immediately scrapping all foreign ownership caps.
