The Galing Pak Awards, which started in 1993, honor innovative local governance practices.

Can you tell us a bit more about some of the other farmers and communities that you're working with? Because in the sampler pack I can see there's from Lanao del Sur.

Yes.

We're also very grateful to have started partnering with Coffee for Peace.

As you may know, there's been a lot of conflict in Mindanao, and Coffee for Peace has been doing a lot of peace building work, community building.

And their story was really so inspiring when I heard it that I felt natural alignment between our organizations.

And the Lanao del Sur coffee was coming from a cooperative in Lanao del Sur called St. Mary's of Downtown, so SMD Farmers Co-op.

And it's an interesting name because they are Muslim.
