Lamesa

It’s also worth noting that the phenomenon wasn’t confined to New Mexico.

On January 30th, a similar event was reported all the way in Lamesa, Texas, which suggests either multiple test runs or something broader.

If one imagines a chain of sightings across state lines, the simplest explanation might be an atmospheric optical effect, perhaps a rare interference between sunlight and ionized particles over vast dry plains.

But then you run into the problem of repeatability.

Salute!
