It was had to wait a month for the Arbuckle's Ice Cream book to arrive from America.

So it was all, it was literally done in, you know, one of those ice cream making machines that you would buy in Lakeland.

You know, that's how it all started.

It started with a dairy farm, a young couple, a Lakeland ice cream maker, and a book that had to be ordered from America, and somehow, 38 years later, you're making ice cream for some of the biggest names around.

Now, I loved this conversation and the dynamic between mum and son, the fun they have, the respect they have for each other, and the fact you can still really define mum from first-generation leader, and I think they're both bringing something really quite interesting to the party.

which did not have a reputation of being a you know center of excellence in communications and my timing was great like literally she had a graduate trainee program that i was hired into and uh when i started that program meant we rotated through the agency so i you know did a a month in the creative team learning how to write a creative brief and how copywriters and designers work together and i did a month in the um what was then the finished art department, which was they just had their first six Apple Macs.

So in 1989, I used an Apple Mac for the first time to edit the pricing in the Lakeland Plastics catalogue because the agency's focus was all how to sell things directly to the public through phone calls.

So I owe a hundred numbers and printed catalogues and mail order orders.

so there was data was sacrosanct and client privacy was this um that you just totally looked after because if you mess that up and you broke the law and you were very clearly dealt with but also you'd broken that trust pact with customers so it was brilliant grounding and we did strategic planning and media and they rotated us around and the team that i settled in was the um the client service strategy side.
