Lake Carnegie

I may have said this to you guys in the first time we had a conversation, but I've long been really fascinated by this idea that some of the great thinkers and religious leaders in human history had meaningful experiences sort of epiphanies or hierophanies if you will like in nature right so we know you know we we know for example the Buddha under the tree and like coming to enlightenment or like I Saint Ignatius was sitting at a river when he finally when he finally had sort of all of his ideas and his beliefs became reconciled the things that were conflicting with his upbringing and with his experience and his own sort of um you know, issues with himself, like they were reconciled and he was given a vision that he carried forward and built the Jesuits.

But even like, you know, Kant, who I'm not a huge fan of Kant's work, but Kant went for long walks every day, right? Like there's a story here, I live not too far from Princeton, New Jersey, And there's a story, there's a lake in New Jersey, in Princeton, called Carnegie Lake after Andrew Carnegie.

And Einstein used to walk the perimeter of Carnegie Lake every day.

But he wouldn't speak to anyone, even though he was known to be a very, very friendly man.

And it's because that's where he was working through his ideas.

And what's interesting about that is it's true today as it was then.

We live right next to Carnegie Lake and Carnegie's in this book.

And it's really weird for me as an Australian.

These things like Edison's laboratory in Carnegie, that's fantasy world on the other side of the universe.

Well, now Carnegie Lake's down the road and Edison's orange laboratory laboratory is a is 45 minutes drive from here i love the velocity selling book uh and what else have i got here actually and funnily enough a brand new author and and he's not that he's everywhere so he's alex amosi i think his books are fantastic because he says it with so little filter and he's so clear and so instructional.

You can tell that he's like a real process guy, right? So I follow these guys.
