Another search took place on August 5th, close to Lake Apopka.

Anyways, Dr. Lewis Gullette, who's a reproductive endocrinologist, was studying the reproductive rate of alligators at Lake Apopka in Florida.

So over time, this doctor, he's noticing that only 10% of the alligators' eggs were being fertilized and hatched.

And to kind of maybe bring some.

additional perspective this i was at those spray meetings you know in winter garden and whatnot um and they they laid out the pictures where people could put in stickers of definitely don't spray here or it's okay if you spray here and overwhelmingly all those pictures were very heavily do not spray all the places duck hunters like to go At that meeting, they read the statistics from their survey about who was recreationally using Lake Apopka.

And I may be off a little bit here, but the numbers were somewhere in the 80s were duck hunters.

Another teens was fishermen.

And then the remainder was other.

So it's also no surprise then that there was a heavy representation of duck hunters at the Lake Apopka spray meetings.

Going back to this, what came out of that? So when you look at what led up to it, where they supposedly, different organizations had led sportsmen and whatnot to think that a certain course of action, a certain amount of vegetation was going to be left.

Then we had a spray meeting that was overwhelmingly, the public, in the public meeting, overwhelmingly said, do not spray.

And then Winter Garden is getting a children's museum.

And then there's going to be a nature center on Lake Apopka.

Okay.

And that wildlife trail that's also due to get some funds too.

We did a few other things as well that we've not done before.

So we did, I don't know if you've done the wildlife trail at Lake Apopka.

What are they burning? 200 acres on the north shore.

It's your own prescribed burn over there at Lake Apopka.

And it's just part of a routine land management thing they do to get out all the invasives and dead stuff.
