We got the Russian River Brewing Company, we got R- we got Bear Republic's Racer 5, we've got Lagunitas, uh, you know, which you can pretty much...

A, a nice, uh, a straight-ahead, uh, West Coast IPA that you can pretty much get anywhere.

But today I'm gonna, because you like to promote beers that maybe aren't quite as familiar as those, I'm gonna, I'm gonna go with a Early Sunset Hazy IPA from Old Caz Brewing Company in Rohnert Park.

I was driving.

I was working for Lagunitas Brewing Company.

And I was up.

They used to do a thing called the Skunk Train.

Like any place where like you wouldn't traditionally expect to find a glass of wine.

Like we now want to be that great glass of wine that that you're, um, that you're reaching for similar to like the way that I would say when craft beer was being built, like you, what I, one of the things I was always so impressed by was like, you could have deep penetration, like meaning like you could, you could see Lagunitas everywhere, for example.

Um, and you, you always knew what it was going to taste like.

Tom Beckman is the owner and head brewer of Goldfinger Brewing Company in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Upon graduating from the World Brewing Academy Master's Brewers Program diploma through Siebel and Domens Academy in Munich, Tom became a production brewer at Lagunitas and later worked several years as a pub brewer at Emmett's Brewing Company.

He established Goldfinger, an exclusively lager production brewery in the summer of 2020 and has an extensive experience with lager brewing and scaling up small lager-centric craft production brewery and taproom.

In this country, you want to talk about coloring of a beer? Ridiculous.

But that Lagunitas version of Newcastle was garbage.

Absolute garbage.

How dare you put such a prominent name on such a crap beer? Thankfully, though, the original recipe is back.

Yeah, it was really hard to

find before, but they just teamed up with Lagunitas.

So if you ever have seen Lagunitas in your supermarket, then you should probably be able to get Trooper.

Yeah, it's Iron Maiden's beer.

Yeah.

The American ones have something the others didn't, though.

Trooper have done a West Coast IPA with Lagunitas.

Out since July, 6.6% brewed with a new hop called Crush.

It's been selling fast at retail, and these events are the most reliable place to actually get a pint of it.

But here's the part I actually liked.

In New York and Los Angeles, your beer is getting poured by a woman named Lara Marinian.

Lagunitas ran a nationwide contest this year to find their first-ever beer roadie.

Paid job, hundreds of applicants, and she got it.
