Lafayette Square

This just opened at the end of August called Picky Cafe.

It is in Lafayette Square.

Now, Picky Cafe is...

I don't know if you'd call it a collaboration.

There's a relationship between them and their sister concept, Squires, which is a Lafayette Square mainstay.

This is across the way from it.

And this is a beautiful daytime cafe that just opened.

So super charming, quaint little spot.

And all, you know, 50, 60-something years old.

Guys, Ollie pulled up to me next to me in Lafayette Square.

I said, what's up? Asked me where I was going to lunch and what I was up to and had a quick 30-second conversation before the green light.

Couldn't have been any more pleasant.

St. Louis lost several longtime restaurants and bars last month.

33 Wine Shop and Bar shuttered after 25 years in Lafayette Square, Everest Cafe and Bar shut down after 22 years in the Grove, and Miss Sherry's Cafeteria closed after more than 50 years in South St. Louis County.

But it wasn't all bad news.

Italian chop house Gamlin's opened in Maplewood, home of the Rice Paper Burrito, Lona's Little Eats expanded to a second location in Kirkwood, and the Clydesdale and Ballpark Village opened up shop with beer delivered by the famous Steeds.

So it was tight, you know, it was tight quarters, but it was a beautiful home, you know, from like 1880 or 1890 in St. Louis.

And it's a beautiful neighborhood in St. Louis, Lafayette Square.

And all the neighbors were delighted to have a movie shooting there.

I didn't have any problem from anybody.
