Lady in the Water

Because I think Lady in the Water has a bad rep for no reason.

There's a few reasons.

I was thinking about it earlier this afternoon and, I think the beginning part of his career, right, Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs in the Village, clearly for me his best period.

Then there's that second period there, Lady in the Water.

yes The Happening is probably his and we watched The Happening yeah most incompetently made The Lady in the Water is just insane.

That's kind of a fun movie, but it's just insane that he made that.

it just like the you making the the the main girl like this like uh avant-garde like savant like she's like the best upcoming yeah yeah she is very precocious but it just the dialogue just i just noticed all the clunkiness of everything rather than the first time i wasn't expecting a lot because i had been let down by him so much of like you know, like, oh my god, like, he'd made so many flops, like, it started kind of with Lady in the Water and it being a little odd, and it just started going downhill from there, that when I had heard a buzz about this actually being kind of spooky, so what, I went into this with very low expectations, so...

the first viewing, I was like, wow, that was pretty cool.

That was, like, he pushed some buttons.

with some of the women that he cast.

Like when you guys, Tony Collette in, in like the sixth sense and this performance, like the last

Yeah.

I mean, M.

Night Shyamalan essentially does this in Lady in the Water where he writes like the writer, the screenwriter is the savior of the world.

That's what Wes Craven is saying here.

He's basically like only good storytellers can contain the evil.

I remember going to see Lady in the Water and just being like, oh, this is awful.

I saw, was it Old that came out about four or five years ago?
