Almost smack dab in the middle of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, McTavish Lake is a remote fly-in body of water located approximately 90 kilometers north of the town of La Ronge.

Part of the Canadian Shield, this vast landscape in northern Saskatchewan features rugged Precambrian rock outcrops, ancient glacial basins, sprawling river systems, and dense boreal timberland.

Historically, an ancestral hunting, fishing, and travel corridor for indigenous Cree and Dene communities, it later became a hub for fur trappers and floatplane adventurers.
