La Garita Wilderness

And so, um, in the La Garita Wilderness going up, um, s- San Luis Peak, uh, it said overcast, but when I was up there 14,000 feet of elevation, there was a thunderstorm overhead.

The lightning was, you know, maybe one or two ridges over, but it was the same clouds above.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, and so where that re- became particularly the case was, uh, near Lake City when there was that Gold Mountain fire raging over near Ridgeway.

Um, the smoke had luckily stayed further north than where I was for quite some time.

But as I was kinda working my way, uh, east across Cannibal Plateau and eventually La Garita Wilderness, uh, this really thick smoke rolled in.

And the day before I was in Lake City and I picked up an N95 mask knowing that, okay, I probably wanna be safe just in case.
