LA Bowl

This game was kind of a full-circle moment.

When you first announced that you were going to be the head coach of UNLV, UNLV was in the L.A. Bowl against the California Golden Bay.

Yeah, it was there.

Yeah, and that's the game where Bill Alexander coached it, and you were kind of on the sidelines.

UNLV tried to come back late in that game, and they just fell short.

UNLV then answered that loss in the LA Bowl in 2024 when they beat Cal 24-13 behind two touchdown passes from Hajmalik Williams.

And there's some player connections between both programs.

Jackson Brown, the offensive lineman, has started his career at Cal before eventually coming to UNLV.

Jacob DeJesus, some fans are calling this the Jacob DeJesus Bowl.

transferred to Cal from UNLV.

After winning offensive MVP in that LA Bowl game, he went on to lead the ACC last year in catches with 108.

Then, obviously, we have the Noel Williams connection as well.

Jiggle Bag is the sponsor.

The LA Bowl should be the Jiggle Bag Bowl.

The Jiggle Bag LA Bowl.

Yes.

Presented

Tyler, you're kind of a tweener with respect to age.

At 68, I have often said, you know, Jimmy Wilson and I in the L.A. Bowl when the Beavers played in the L.A. Bowl.

We, we sitting next to each other during the game had to talk like this just to, Hey, did you, and I thought that there's something's wrong with that.

I shouldn't have to talk this loud to a guy two feet from me.

They didn't play in Luminaire or whatever that stadium's name.

They played in the LA Bowl.

You got to buy sponsorship for that bowl game.

They covered up the SoFi signage, everything.

Ooh.

L.A. Bowl in their stadium.

The L.A. Bowl in their stadium

is crazy.

I'll

Yeah.

Well, it's funny because the last time I asked to have you on the show was before the L.A. Bowl with Boise and UW.

And you said, nope, I'm going to sit this one out.

So I'm surprised that you said, yep, to come out on this one.
