La Boqueria

I have my Open Water certification and my wife is about to get her Open Water, so we did like an intro to scuba class in the, in like a bay almost off the coast of Barcelona that we found really enjoyable.

And then we went to La Boqueria Market, which is a very famous, like, food stall.

They have fresh food, fish.

They have some, like, really small r-restaurants where there's like maybe 20 stools in them that you can order tapas from.

Uh, Ibiza, the center of Madrid, Barcelona, come on.

They even, in the Mercado de la Boquería, they, they have to even tell people, "This is a real market.

This is not a mus- This...

Stop with the pictures.

At midday, when I arrived on La Rambla, the city's most heavily visited and photographed corridor, the street had little shade and surprisingly few people.

At La Boqueria Market, Normally jam-packed at lunchtime, I found my way to a famously busy bar counter and took one of several open seats.

Later, the emptiness became the subject of conversation.

Everybody's making way less money, Diego Penso Fivas, a veteran tour guy who often works with Americans, told me at a hotel bar near the Plaza de Catalunya.
