L'Origine du monde

Yeah.

It's the same obscurantism or darkness of the people that wants, you know, to censor the painting of Courbet, The Origin of the World, because, you know, it shows a woman intimacy.

Art, the purpose of literature and art is to provoke us.

And it's to shake our ground.

But of course, the painting that has these days created the biggest scandal and is available to be seen at the Orsay Museum is a very small painting.

It's actually really, really pretty small, called The Origin of the World.

And it is a painting of a woman's sex.

Basically, it is a painting that is taken from a point of view that is incredibly strange because it's the... camera, and he did use a camera, by the way, to actually prepare the painting.

I hadn't looked at the sculpture up close, but later I realized it was pretty much the origin of man, but in

sculpture form.

The origin of the world.

Of the world, sorry.
