Kyra Buckley

Today on the show, our friend at OPB joins us to discuss her story on how data center numbers are not what they always seem to be.

Kyra Buckley, business reporter for OPB.

Kyra, it's always great to talk to you.

Thanks so much for coming on.

So a lot of conditions have changed since most of these data centers kind of planted their mark in Oregon.

Yeah.

If you're just joining us, we're talking to my colleague up at OPB, business reporter Kyra Buckley, about this report on data centers.

Obviously, data centers, as you mentioned, take a tremendous amount of electricity.

so, yeah, this data didn't shock me, but it's still interesting to actually have concrete numbers now.

And so- Kyra Buckley at OPB, she got her hands on this report by Eco Northwest and the University of Virginia.

It's the first time we have concrete data about data centers in Oregon and their impacts on energy and the economy.

It found that we have 111 current data centers in operation all across the state.
