Kyle Walters

We're going to a whole bunch of championships, having won one when we were actually still covering the team.

I was really fortunate for a quick, smooth and easy transition after TSN where I had an opportunity and I'm now the director of community relations for an organization called True North Health so we help folks with health services right across Manitoba it's a beautiful organization and beautiful services we provide and then so that as the work and then and literally living on the pitch coaching all of Trace like Trace teams and helping out some other like with the summer games and things like that in manitoba and just living on the pitch man like it's non-stop and uh you know trying to make sure that my wife is happy at the same time with how much time we're on the pitch so those are the two things that do the most for sure but everybody's happy healthy and good i i'm really intrigued and i was thinking of what you guys um what your takes are on this you know when when wade miller kind of shocked the world for you know in the cfl and certainly with the bombers world and chose kyle walters as his gm I remember hearing that, and I was like, Kyle Walters? But holy cow, the Walters of Shaken Action, and what they assembled and put together for one of the two greatest eras, or one of the three greatest eras of Blue Bomber history, what they achieved was just so desperate, man.

The Bomber fans deserved that level of success that they enjoyed for that time frame, and boy, they had They just overnight, one of the best or the best O-line in the CFL was the initial stamp right away with Kyle Walters.

And Zach Pilaros falls out of heaven, basically.

I remember watching the first game with him with you guys, and he gets rocked playing Calgary.

But he gets up and that whole thing with his head injuries and coming back the way that he did to establish himself as one of the best quarterbacks now that ever played.

put on the jersey.

So all of the things that came together for Kyle Walters and Michael Shea and their leadership and vision and guidance and stuff like that for this era.

Daniels is not that pass blocker.

Doug's referring to, if you didn't see it, Kyle Walters had a clip from the war room at the draft time, and he called Dante Daniels, he's a crap kicking blocker.

He really clobbers guys in the run game.

Not at this level.

I mean, we're talking about the only two teams since 2019 to represent the West in the Grey Cup.

And I think if you look at Winnipeg and it's Wade Miller and it's Michael Shea and it's Kyle Walters and it's Zach Kolaros.

And I think you can look at the key figures there and how tremendous they are at what they do and the consistent success they've achieved, you see a lot of the same things in Saskatchewan.

And so just almost mirror images in a lot of ways.

The member guest was fantastic.

We had Kyle Walters, the general manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

He was there.

Wow.

To me though, right now, that patience has to kind of change a little bit because there should be a little bit of a sense of urgency here.

And it's not like you brought a brand new team into this season, right? You brought back, and it's obviously Kyle Walters as well, but you brought back a lot of regular veteran guys from previous seasons.

So you still thought you were going to be winning this season.

So now we need that sense of urgency to be like, okay, this is not working.

They have this huge tight end.

Why haven't they even figured out a bully package where they have an extra whatever lineman or tight end on the end there?

Okay, so my question to you then, because we don't have him on this list, where do you grade Kyle Walters in all this? Because why are you drafting that guy if he's not going to be a big part of this offense? Not a big part, but a main part kind of thing, you know? Your offensive coordinator that you brought in, and again, I don't know who hired him exactly, I'm assuming O'Shea did, he is not using the guys you brought in.

And at the same time, the guys that Kyle Walters has brought in over the last few years and the guys he's kind of let go, I feel like he's on the wrong side of it.

... and Kyle Walters?" And it's concerning to me because-

... um, you know, Stanley Bryan looked good for a while, and then he looked like he was 40.

coaching? Yeah, that's kind of the problem is where do you pay more attention? Usually these coaches are coaches and then they get the GM role.

How often do we see someone who's a GM like Sean Burke or in Winnipeg, what's his name? walt kyle walters he's not coming down into the coaching realm and becoming a coach on the field he's staying in the office right because my thing would be like we're seeing these coaches cross over into the gm roles and it's not having success coaches need to stay at coaches

yeah because my thing would be like they think like i know i'm a good coach like i've proven that i'm a good coach i must not be in i must not be doing a good job as a gm let me focus on money talks though i don't

know it and i guess this is malpractice from even the higher powers ownership to not go and hire one guy to do all these jobs because that is not good business rick you're in business and in management you can't have one person doing all

To Wes's point about film, I'll go off on a slight tangent here.

Kyle Walters was my head coach at the University of Guelph.

He's now the general manager with the Blue Bombers.

He would sit there and film at the University of Guelph, and usually it would just be the biggest mistake that somebody made in a game.

His ninth target of the season, he's got seven catches for 82 yards.

Bombers GM Kyle Walters praised his blocking coming out of college.

He's seen a lot of action at the tight end fullback so far in this game.
