What else is going on on the sales side?

As far as sales go, we start getting into, like, s- mushroom-growing supplies, which is a really natural path for a lot of these farmers to go, either selling supplies or selling secondary and tertiary products like the dried mushrooms, the tinctures.

So we slowly started adding those type of products to our market stands.

We added tinctures first, then we added dry mushrooms, then we started selling the grow blocks, and selling the grow blocks ended up being way more profitable than selling the mushrooms, which was great, 'cause everybody tries the mushrooms and they're like, "Oh, I think I'll try a block." And with the medicinal benefits of lion's mane and cordyceps and reishi all getting really popular, folks would see the tinctures on the tables and instantly be like, "Oh, you guys make it yourself.

I'll take one." And that's a $45 little jar of tincture, so it really started boosting the revenue greatly once we started adding these little things in.

And then the restaurant side of things picked up.

You start meeting folks at the market who are like, "You should try this restaurant," and then you start building this web of relationships, right? You get kinda plugged into the food community, and people are like, "Oh, this is a really good restaurant downtown.

Even if you're doing it in a closet, even if you're doing it in your basement.

What does self-reliance mean to you beyond just growing some of your own food?

Yeah, self-reliance.

I think it has to be a full picture thing when you're thinking about, especially if right now, if you're gonna invest into property, you're going to invest into all this stuff, more than likely you want self-reliance on a total, you know, holistic approach, you know? So for me, that means solar, the whole nine, battery backup, you know, o- other options when it comes to water, having, you know, a 10-year garden, stored seeds, all, all that kind of stuff, you know? Um, quote unquote, "The, the real prepping deal," and I mean, I think it only makes sense.

There's no point in really doing it half-ass 'cause if you ever really do need it, you're [laughs] gonna be wishing that you had it.

Um, so when it comes to the farm itself, I mean, really getting off the grid is something we're working on right now.

Um, we're working with an awesome solar company.

We're gonna have this kind of collaboration, I think, between the home grower hobbyist and the commercial grower to figure out all the things we can do.
