RicoHOST
13:20
... parts that I have where it's just like I'm waiting for, uh, Kuroko no Basuke.
TyHOST
13:23
Mm-hmm.
RicoHOST
13:24
Which is, to me, is like clearly, like it's gonna be in there for like the next.
SantoHOST
52:32
And again, I'm saying not in terms of anime, but in terms of just specifically sports anime.
SantoHOST
52:39
Kuroko's good.
MilesHOST
52:40
I agree, though.
MilesHOST
52:41
Yeah, sports anime is good.
SantoHOST
52:55
In the landscape, sure.
SantoHOST
52:56
I'll say it's mid.
SantoHOST
52:59
But let's say if we're just going based on sports for me, a Kuroko versus a left-hand layup.
SantoHOST
53:09
Left-hand layup is mid.
Bryan RobiHOST
11:03
Mm-hmm.
Jack BoninHOST

ForneverWorldHOST
34:53
Yeah, I really wish they would've... 'Cause Haikyu!!, they've stretched the living dog shit out of keeping Haikyu!! relevant.
ForneverWorldHOST
34:59
I ain't gonna lie, I feel like the author, Kuroko, exited way too early, and I understand that he was thinking maybe a legacy play or whatnot.
ForneverWorldHOST
35:05
Kuroko should still be the one.
ForneverWorldHOST
35:07
Like, Kuroko was the one that reignited everything for sports manga.
ForneverWorldHOST
35:11
You know, it was, like, the, the most coolest basketball thing, taking the My Hero Academia concept and combining it into basketball, with, like, quirks and whatnot.
ForneverWorldHOST
35:19
I wish that this was Ku- I, I would love more Kuroko.
ForneverWorldHOST
35:22
I'ma just keep it real.

39:29
Yeah.
Hayley WisendineHOST
39:29
So my favorite anime character ever is Aomine from Kuroko's Basketball.
Nick FriedmanHOST
39:34
Mm.
Hayley WisendineHOST
39:34
Who inherently starts as a villain and then, you know-
JamesHOST
23:11
You aren't just following Luffy, you're curious about the world around him.
JamesHOST
23:14
what's the void century what's the one piece what's happening with the world government and what's happening during the that lost uh century and what's the deal with all these different islands the mystery keeps moving forward so i gotta give it to one piece and um really nobody else really uh like competes with it it's just that massive and it's because it has been going on for so long and they're sailing the sea so they're hitting different things and i like that oda just keeps building on that and just makes the world that much more massive than when we first started one piece no shade to the other shows but it is what it is category seven best fights and this is where we get even more controversial because there are way too many choices Dragon Ball basically revolutionized enemy fights Naruto has some all-time classics you got the Rock Lee versus Gaara Naruto versus Sasuke the first time and the second time kakashi and obito pain and naruto sasuke deidara sasuke and itachi ton of them one piece has loopies and major fights and bleach has ichigo and yakuya oh my gosh i'm gonna just fuck that up uh ichigo and um ukiyori and plenty more jjk has some insane imagine why can't i not talk today animation demon slayer is basically flexing that animation every season and then my hero you have all my versus all for one and i know um deku fights all for one as well but i did not finish the show hunter hunter netero mirror um and this just goes on and on because what is shonen without its fights you know what i mean and hear me out i'm gonna throw two sports anime in here as well because the their games feel like fights just just hear me you got crocos and then you have um iq and you can't tell me those games do not feel like these battle shonen crocos basically basketball with superpowers you know what i mean and like you take volleyball and somehow makes it feel like the fate of the universe depends on this next spike it's just crazy now i might get yelled at but this isn't about animation or anything like that it's just the fights itself and i know demon slayer goes crazy with the animation and their fight scenes and stuff but they're do not hit for me like the way naruto fights do and as you can tell i'm going with naruto but for a reason because a lot of naruto's fights are so heavily tied to these characters and with emotional context behind each fight not all of them but most of them with you know you have Neji versus Hinata at the the tuning exams and where he's you know fighting for his branch family and just how much he's kind of like kept it to himself how much he despises how his family gets treated by the the main family like Hinata's dad and stuff but I mean that's just how it goes for them you have um Jiraiya versus uh Jiraiya and um Tsunade versus Orochimaru the sainting fighting each other haven't I don't know how many years it's been since they've all been in the same place at the same time big big implications there Sasuke versus Itachi finally getting that get back that he's been wanting since the start of the show but then finding out there's something else behind all of that and you know going crazy the way he does in the second half of Naruto there's so many things that make these fights memorable and why they're some of the best fights and I mean I know there's a lot of powering up and everything different powers unlocking and stuff but I feel like emotional context matters for these fights Obito and Kakashi and that brewing for who knows how long so I had to pick Naruto I know a lot of these other fights they may have better animation or better fights or whatever but i don't know if all of them have that emotion behind them now this is a quick category because i don't i've not seen a lot of sports anime but um i want to give them their own category regardless and we got Haikyuu! Kuroko's Basketball uh almost blanked on the name Blue Lock Ayo Ashi i forgot how to say that Ayo Ashi umamusume at sports uh but there's so many different sports anime you're on ice megalobox my gosh i can't i apologize i cannot talk today and um it's kind of hard to um really just choose But I'll say it like this.
JamesHOST
28:54
It comes down to Haikyuu and Kuroko's for me.
JamesHOST
28:57
I know it's not fair to the other shows, but Kuroko's is more ridiculous and that's why I love it.
Banana WarriorHOST
22:50
Glasses.
Roronoa LolaHOST
22:52
Kuroko no Basuke.
Banana WarriorHOST
22:54
No, it's not Kuroko no Basuke.
Roronoa LolaHOST
22:56
Why did I say-
Banana WarriorHOST
22:57
Why did you even say Kuroko no Basuke?
Roronoa LolaHOST
22:58
Oh, that's Midoriya my guy.
Roronoa LolaHOST
22:59
[laughs]
Banana WarriorHOST
23:16
Um, high school.
UchiHOST
18:21
Yeah.
UchiHOST
18:23
I think it does sit in, like, that weird spot where, like, it doesn't feel like the Haikyuu's of the world, right? Where, like, Haikyuu, I think, is, like, a very traditional sports shounen, right? I'll say Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basket, right? Yeah.
UchiHOST
18:39
But I think it's definitely closer to the ping pong where it's very grounded in reality, but it's extremely arthouse-like, very heavy on the cinematography, the animation, the creative choices that it does, right? To try to convey the story a lot more versus being based on pure hype moments, right?
JordoHOST
18:58
Yeah.
